Group Story Startup Profile

The photo book industry has grown from $44 to $400 million dollars in the past few years, but could not solve a problem: regardless of how many people are involved in an event, only one person tells the story. For example, the high school yearbook may feature hundreds of students, but only tells the principal's story.

Group Story was created to fill this gap. "We call ourselves the social photo book," says Founder George Junginger. "Group Story allows people to share pictures and create customized photo book experiences."

Group Story also enables users to tag photos to ease retrievability and build photo book pages from built-in templates. "Our patent pending technology lets people collaborate on a book and personalize it down to the small details," George says.

Group Story is now being used by hundreds of baseball groups in Cary and Morrisville and thousands of individuals.

The sparking growth. "I love what Durham is becoming," George says. "The city is really going through a renaissance – it has creative, cutting-edge startups located in historical buildings with 21st century technology."
